Dick’s Sporting Goods Trivia winner: Wissahickon senior Clements wins it again

January 23, 2013 by Chris Goldberg

Phillylacrosse.com, Posted 1/23/13

For the second week in a row, Wissahickon senior LSM Will Clements has won the Dick’s Sporting Goods $50 Twitter Coupon Trivia Question.

Clements successfully answered the tweet question from @phillylacrosse: How many championships have the Philadelphia Wings won in the National Lacrosse League and in what years?

The Wings won all of their NLL titles from 1989 to 2001 – claiming the crown in 1989, ’90, ’94, ’95, ’98 and 2001.

The bonus question was, “What current Philly HS assistant coach was the team’s coach for half of the titles. The answer was supplied by Clements – Tony Resch, currently assistant and AD at Catholic League power La Salle. Resch, also a Wings perennial All-Star, was voted into the NLL Hall of Fame in 2008.

Clements (@da_pipelayer) had the winning answer in less than 2 minutes, and was followed by four others who had it just seconds later.

Clements, who gets a Dick’s $50 coupon, answered correctly in less than 2 minutes! But others were not far behind.

Other finishers with the correct answer:

Second was Kennett/NXT L.C. SOPH ATT-MF Brady O’Neill (@bradyoneill17).

Third was two-time past winner and six-time medalist Tyson Hugee (followtyson), a Wissahickon a freshman midfielder.

Fourth was Harriton JR DEF Brendan Wickline (@Wicki_Pedia).

Fifth was Downingtown East Assistant Coach Brendan Staudt (@BStaudt631), a member of the Cougars’ 2007 state title team as a goalie.

Follow @phillylacrosse on Twitter to be eligible for the contest, held each week.

The Wings are off to a strong 2-0 start and can be seen tonight on their new Philly LAX Live show at 11:30 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet with co-hosts Scott Gabrielsen and defenseman Brett Manney (@BManney 13).
