This week’s Dick’s Sporting Goods $50 Coupon Trivia Contest winner had a neat connection to the winning answer.
The question was: which three Philly products (graduates), all defensemen, earned USILA First-Team All-American honors in 2012. The three were Johns Hopkins junior Tucker Durkin (La Salle), Lynchburg junior Joe Lisicky (Unionville) and Cabrini senior John McSorley (Ridley).
The winning answer on through @phillylacrosse was Austin Edelman (@Austin_T_Party), a Cabrini freshman out of Upper Merion.
The runner-up was a regular placer in the contest, Boyertown senior goalie Austin Mutter, who will attend Eastern University, located just across the street from Cabrini. The third-place finisher was Moorestown sophomore middie Kevin Tsao (@generaltsa0).
Lisicky was in the news for being named Lacrosse Magazine’s Division III Preseason Player of the Year. McSorley and Edelman’s Cavaliers were ranked No. 6 by Lacrosse Magazine in its Division III Preseason Poll.
Durkin? The former Phillylacrosse.com Player of the Year and two-time state champion with the Explorers is just considered the best defenseman in the nation by many.
