Crooked Crosse Lacrosse Club claimed the SEPYLA A1 championship on Sunday with a 4-3 victory over Wilmington Lacrosse Club. Crooked Crosse capped an undefeated regular season and playoff run during which it scored 134 goals and gave up 17 goals.
The team also had a 5-0 record in tournament play at Evanfest and the Battle of Fort Washington. Crooked Crosse is based in Upper Dublin Township and this marks the club’s first league championship.
“The championship game featured two teams of talented players who fought to the last horn,” said Coach Brian Wall. “It was an exciting game to watch.
“We are so proud of our team. They played the championship game the same way they have played together all year – they shared the ball on offense and played great team defense. It has been a great experience for the coaches watching them develop over the last few years into young men who share a love of the game with respect for each other. Each one of them played a role in the team’s success.”
