From Press Release

The HEADstrong Foundation™ is proud to announce a very special fundraising event scheduled for the 2013 lacrosse season. The 1st Annual Relentless Cup will be held on Saturday April 6th, 2013 at Ridley High School.

The event will combine interstate youth games, high school games and will be highlighted by St. Joseph’s University taking on Hofstra University in Division I men’s lacrosse under the lights at 7 PM.

The event will gather youth lacrosse teams from four states including: Clearview Youth of New Jersey, Huntingtown Youth of Maryland, Ridley Youth of Pennsylvania and Rockville Centre Youth of New York. In addition, both Ridley boys and girls’ teams will play Avon Grove before the Division I men’s lacrosse game.

Proceeds from The Relentless Cup will support Nick’s House™, the Nicholas E. Colleluori Lymphoma Research Fund and the quality of life services offered by the HEADstrong Foundation.

The teams participating in HEADstrong’s newest event have all played a significant role in the life of founder Nicholas “HEAD” Colleluori. It was with Ridley Youth Lacrosse that Colleluori first learned to play the game.

Former Ridley Youth coaches Mike Hyland, now of Huntingtown and Shawn Ralph, now of Clearview, have both since relocated and become involved with programs in their communities. Rockville Centre Lacrosse of Long Island has been a huge proponent of the HEADstrong Foundation with involvement in several HEADstrong fundraisers and they are led by Tom Susko.

It was at Hofstra University that Nick played collegiately and St. Joseph’s University who has developed a strong alliance with the organization also have personal associations to the disease.

“It is with great excitement that we announce this special event for the 2013 lacrosse season,” said Cheryl Colleluori, HEADstrong President and Nick’s Mom. “We have longed to create an event that bridges the gap with the communities that meant so much to our Nick and to our family.

“We truly thankful to Nick’s beloved Ridley High School for allowing us the ability to host this event on campus. We also wish to sincerely thank St. Joseph’s University, Hofstra University and all of the participating youth programs for their continued support and for joining our fight by being part of the Relentless Cup. Our hope is to continue to empower athletes by engaging them with service opportunities and an unforgettable lacrosse experience.”

Admission will be $10.00 and tickets will be available at the event and online at www.shopHEADstrong.com
