Maple Zone boys’ recruit: Shawnee senior defenseman Flannery commits to Manhattan

Shawnee (N.J.) senior defenseman Connor Flannery has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Manhattan College.

Major lacrosse honors, camps: Philly Showcase Senior Day, Top 205 Rising Juniors, 3-Year letter winner, New England Storm Invitational Runner-ups, Rider MVP Champions

Academic honors, service projects:
National Honor Society, Academic Award for Art, Academic Award for Science, Deborah Heart Art 3rd Place in 3D Art, Green Dot Committee, Shawnee High School Leadership Academy, Shawnee Lacrosse Leadership Council

What will you major in/study? “I plan on majoring in either History or Political Science with a focus on Pre-Law.”

Why did you choose the school?
“I chose Manhattan for its excellent academic and athletic reputation. Manhattan is headed in a brand new direction and there’s a lot of excitement surrounding the lacrosse program and the school. I’m also excited to work with Coach Manitta and the rest of the coaching staff; they bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm, and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “Shawnee will be playing in a new conference this year and the whole school is excited about it. We’re doing a lot this off season and our goal is to win the Conference, and the Group 3 Championship.”

I also want to thank my parents, Cindy and Larry Flannery, for their unwavering support.”
