Shawnee (N.J.) senior defenseman Connor Flannery has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Manhattan College.

What will you major in/study? “I plan on majoring in either History or Political Science with a focus on Pre-Law.”
Why did you choose the school? “I chose Manhattan for its excellent academic and athletic reputation. Manhattan is headed in a brand new direction and there’s a lot of excitement surrounding the lacrosse program and the school. I’m also excited to work with Coach Manitta and the rest of the coaching staff; they bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm, and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “Shawnee will be playing in a new conference this year and the whole school is excited about it. We’re doing a lot this off season and our goal is to win the Conference, and the Group 3 Championship.”

I would also like to thank my high school coaches Tim Gushue, Erik Stilley, Jim Dunn and Gene Shulman for all their help and time teaching and coaching the game. Also, SouthShore Lacrosse coaches Chad Flexon, and Chris Berkelbach for all their time and dedication this summer. I also want to thank my parents, Cindy and Larry Flannery, for their unwavering support.”
