US Lacrosse announced the schedule of presenters and topics for 153 educational sessions at the 2013 US Lacrosse National Convention, presented by Champion. The convention is set for Jan. 11-13 in Philadelphia, and lacrosse coaches, officials and administrators can purchase tickets at uslacrosse.org/2013convention through Dec. 28.

Two-time Super Bowl coach Dick Vermeil (Philadelphia Eagles) will deliver the keynote address to all attendees at 7 p.m. Jan. 11 in the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Team USA’s Richie Meade, Duke University’s John Danowski, Georgetown University’s Kevin Warne, the University of Pennsylvania’s Mike Murphy, Stevenson University’s Paul Cantabene, and National Hall of Famer Tom Marechek (Friends School of Baltimore, former Wings star) highlight the slate of men’s lacrosse coaches to host clinics. Team USA’s Ricky Fried, the University of Maryland’s Cathy Reese, Johns Hopkins University’s Janine Tucker, Stony Brook University’s Joe Spallina, the University of Southern California’s Lindsey Munday and National Hall of Famer Bonnie Rosen (Harriton, Temple University) highlight the lineup of women’s lacrosse coaches.

“The focus of many US Lacrosse initiatives is the delivery of resources to our members that help them improve the lacrosse experience in their local communities, and we bring that to life at our annual convention,” said Beth Porreca, director of special events at US Lacrosse. “We’re delighted that so many of the game’s best coaches, officials and administrators will share their knowledge with thousands of their aspiring colleagues from all over the country. We’re looking forward to a great event in Philadelphia.”

Former NBA referee Bob Delaney will give a featured address to all officials at 6:15 p.m. Jan. 12. Longtime officials such as Al Blau, Walt Munze, Rich Tamberrino and Rick Wooten are among several men’s lacrosse officials to present at the convention. They’ll be joined on the women’s side by Laura Hebert, Liz Brush and National Hall of Famers Jen O’Donnell (Upper Perkiomen, West Chester resident) and Pat Dillon, among others.

Full convention schedules appear at uslacrosse.org/2013convention.

The US Lacrosse National Convention, presented by Champion, annually draws upwards of 5,000 participants, and it includes four live demonstration areas, approximately 150 educational sessions, and the US Lacrosse Fan Fest, a portion of events open to the public and centered around the sport’s largest exposition hall.
