A limited number of tickets remain for the inaugural EVANFEST Lacrosse Banquet, which will be held on Thursday, November 15 from 6-to-11 p.m. at Drexelbrook Catering in Drexel Hill.

Individual banquet tickets are $80 and a group table (10 or more people) is $750. Click here to purchase a ticket.

A star-studded cast of speakers will be featured at the event, which will raise money for families that have a child with a life-threatening disease. It was created to honor the memory of Malvern Prep’s Evan Brady, a youth lacrosse standout who showed courage and dignity while battling osteogenic sarcoma (bone cancer) for several years until passing away at the age of 19 (his jersey number) in 2005.

The Master of Ceremonies for the event is Philly lacrosse standout Brian Dougherty, the head coach at Chestnut Hill College. Dougherty, who won every major honor as a goalie at Episcopal Academy, the University of Maryland, for the Philadelphia Barrage of the MLL and for Team USA in the World Championships, was inducted into the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame last month.

Special guest speakers include Haverford School coach John Nostrant, La Salle College High and Chesapeake Bayhawks assistant coach Tony Resch (also Wings legendary player and coach) and Princeton coach Chris Bates.

Schedule:
6:00PM – 7:00PM Open Bar
7:00PM – 9:00 Sit Down Dinner & Speakers

The seventh annual EVANFEST lacrosse festival will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Malvern Prep.

EVANFEST features more than 40 boys’ youth lacrosse teams in the U-15 and U-13 divisions as well as a premier high school game every year. Teams mostly come from Chester and Delaware Counties. The day will bring surrounding communities together to further the sport of lacrosse and to help raise money to donate to families to help defray the many costs involved in this monumental fight. Already, more than 130 families have been helped through EVANFEST. Last year more than $100,000 was raised.

Each team will be guaranteed two games. The games will consist of two, 25-minute halves. Each game will be officiated by professional referees and there will be timed penalties. Most importantly, schedules will feature inter-league play between teams from SEPYLA and CCLA. Registration fee is $400.00 per team.

Designed as a family event, players, parents, coaches, and their family and friends are welcome and encouraged to participate. There will be plenty of food and EVANFEST merchandise – including the popular and re-designed EVANFEST t-shirt – for sale with all proceeds going to benefit the families supported by EVANFEST.

People are encouraged to go to the Evanfest website to learn more about the event.
