Souderton junior midfielder Tori Bulgier has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Marquette University.

Tori Bulgier log:

Tori Bulgier

High school: Souderton Area High School

Graduation year:
2014

Position: Midfield

College choice: Marquette University

Club affiliation:
Ultimate Goal

Major lacrosse honors: All-American National Lacrosse Classic (2011), Philly Showcase deBeer Fab 40 All-Star (2011), Souderton Lacrosse Rookie of the Year, Varsity Starter, Recipient of Souderton lacrosse team “spirit stick”.

What will you major in/study:
Communications with a minor in Political Science

Why did you choose school: “I chose Marquette, because of the numerous opportunities that it will provide for me, both athletically and academically. The coaches made me feel welcome from the moment I first stepped onto the campus. It is a newer team (starts at NCAA level in 2013) that is very passionate about the game and motivated to succeed. I felt confident with my decision, knowing that Coach (Meredith) Black, (Jackie) Doherty, and (Courtney) Tamasitis have such tremendous goals for this Marquette team. I know that they all will work hard to help shape me into the most successful player that I can possibly be and they are passionate coaches with a strong vision for Marquette lacrosse. Most importantly, every aspect of Marquette made me feel at home and at ease.”

Outlook for your high school team: “We are gaining two new coaches this year, that have a lot of passion for the game and I know that they will put forth a 100% effort to make sure that we are successful this season. I would say that we are definitely a younger team this year; we have so much potential and a lot of heart. I think that if we truly give every game our all and work together, that we can be a force to be reckoned with. As a team, I think we all want to gain more trust and confidence in each other and we most certainly want to try and get past the first round of playoffs, which I know we can achieve.”

Other comments: “I have a lot of people to thank, for helping not only through the recruiting process, but who have helped and coached me along from the very first time I held a lacrosse stick.

First, I would like my parents for always being there for me, for giving me advice in tough situations, for taking me to my games, practices and camps, and for supporting me in everything that I do. I do not know what I would do without them and I owe them a lot. I would like to thank my sisters Natalie and Janice for always supporting me as well, and for always being there for me when I needed to practice my shots, work on my stick work, and for providing me with helpful advice when I needed it most.

“I would like to thank all my coaches, especially my high school coach Nicole Bauer, as she provided me with various opportunities, in order to help enhance my game. I would like to thank Nancy Offner for introducing me to club lacrosse and for helping me with the recruiting process. I would like to thank Michelle DeJuliis and my club coaches, Jenny Duckenfield, Anne Pillion, and Jill Davis for aiding me with the recruiting process and for providing me with valuable advice. Also, I want to thank Karen Bergman for not only guiding me through the recruiting process, but for rehabilitating and strengthening me after all of my injuries. I would also like to thank Jaime Connahan for introducing me to my current club team, Ultimate Goal.

“Lastly, I would like to thank my past and current teammates for being exceptional role models and for helping me overcome some of my most difficult struggles. I am grateful for everything that each one of these people have done for me and I could not have accomplished what I have, if it was not for their continuous support and confidence in me.”
