Holy Ghost Prep names Tessler (St. Joseph’s University) as head boys’ lacrosse coach

Holy Ghost Prep has named St. Joseph’s University grad Ryan Tessler as head lacrosse coach. Tessler served as a varsity assistant for the 2011-2012 school year.

Coach Tessler brings a wealth of experience from his personal lacrosse career at both at the high school and collegiate level. As a high school student, he played for nationally ranked Bethpage High School in Long Island, NY. After graduation, he continued playing lacrosse at St. Joseph’s where he earned a starting roster spot for all four years on the lacrosse team.

Tessler has also coached at Bethpage High School in Bethpage High (2009-2011) and at the Viper Lacrosse Organization in Bethpage.

“Coach Tessler possesses the knowledge, attitude and vision that our lacrosse program needs,” said Jim Stewart, Athletic Director at Holy Ghost Prep.

“I am excited about this new opportunity at Holy Ghost Prep and I am confident that together we will build on the winning traditions that surround the school community,” said Tessler.

Holy Ghost went 13-6 last year under Tony Omrod and qualified for the District 1 tourney while winning the Bicentennial League championship.
