Hill School senior attackman Nate Smith-Ide has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Middlebury College.

Nate Smith-Ide log:

Nate Smith-Ide

High School: The Hill School

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Attack

College Choice: Middlebury College

Club Affiliation: Laxachusetts

Major lacrosse honors: Maverik Showtime, Philly Showcase Gait Fab 40 All-Star

Academic honors: Summa Cum Laude National Latin and Greek Exams

What will you major in/study? “I’m leaning towards International Relations with possibly a minor in language.”

Why did you choose the school? “I had always wanted to end up at Middlebury, and to play lacrosse there will be an added plus. Middlebury is a tough place academically with great teachers and a beautiful campus.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “Although we graduated a lot of kids, I think that we will bounce back and have another good year. We’re fairly young, but we have a good group of players with a bunch of potential. Our schedule is tough again, so I’m excited to play against some of the best kids in the country.”

Other schools considered? West Point, Amherst, Williams

Other comments:
My dad (Ned Ide, former Hill coach) has played a huge role in the process, and I can’t thank him enough. I’d also like to thank Josh Silverstein, my roommate, for pushing me in the weight room, and my college coordinator Graham Conlan.”

Maple Zone Sports and Fitness Complex, the official sponsor for Phillylacrosse.com Boys’ Recruits, congratulates Nate Smith-Ide.
