Recent Abington graduate Travis O’Connor will play MCLA Division I lacrosse at the University of Pittsburgh.

Travis O’Connor log:

Travis O’Connor

High school: Abington Senior High School

Graduation year: 2012

Position: Goalie

College choice: University of Pittsburgh

Club affiliation:
Bandits Lacrosse (formerly Wet Bandits)

Major lacrosse honors: 2-time Philly Showcase Gait Fab Forty choice, 2-time All Suburban One, Team Captain

What will you major in/study:
Finance

Why did you choose school: I choose the University of Pittsburgh for multiple reasons. First of all, the academics at the university and the availability of internships. Second, the city of Pittsburgh has a lot to offer and I fell in love with it and the campus when I visited. Finally, I knew that even though Pitt’s lacrosse team was club, it is a very competitive team that travels and plays in the MCLA, having qualified for the National Championships last year.

Other school considered:
Boston University, Northeastern University.

Other comments: “I’d like to thank my high school coaches, Randy McNeil and Ryan Greer, and club coaches, Fred Lomady and Bob Ambler; as well as Joe Donnelly, Sr. & Jr at Basic Training Lax. I would also like to thank my parents and sister for their support throughout my lacrosse career.”

Maple Zone Sports and Fitness Complex, the official sponsor for Phillylacrosse.com Boys’ Recruits, congratulates Travis O’Connor. Maple Zone, located on Conchester Pike in Boothwyn, offers numerous programs, leagues and instructional activities for boys’ and girls’ lacrosse players and also offers boys’ U13 and U15 travel teams.
