Chaminade (N.Y.) rising junior midfielder-face-off specialist Sam Bonafede has committed to the admissions process at Princeton University.

Sam Bonafede log:

Sam Bonafede

High school: Chaminade High School, NY

Year of Graduation:
2014

Position:
Midfield (face-off)

College choice:
Princeton University

Club affiliation: Long Island Express & GotSkillz

Lacrosse honors: No. 8 Ranked Rising Junior according to Inside Lacrosse

Intended major: Will look to study at the Woodrow Wilson School of International Studies.

Why did you choose Princeton? “I wanted to attend a school with a both a rich history of lacrosse and excellent academics. Princeton University, one of the most distinguished universities in the the world, with six national championships was my overwhelming choice. I enjoy History and International Studies. Princeton will optimize these opportunities while playing top 10 division 1 lacrosse.”

Outlook for 2013 HS season: “Our Chaminade High School team is filled with talent at every position. I look to contribute in any way I can for Coach Moran. As a team we look to win but at the same time play with respect and character. We play a tough tri-state schedule but we have high hopes and look to beat the Friars at the end of the year.”

Other schools considered:
UPenn, Harvard, Notre Dame, Johns Hopkins and Dartmouth.

Other comments:
“I’d like to thank my coaching staff at Chaminade, my club Coach Gene Isnardi and my PAL Coach Bob Sheets who got it all started for me.”

Note: Student-athletes must continue through the admissions process while applying to Ivy League schools
