The second annual Girls Philly Showcase Camp takes place this week from July 17th through July 19th at Haverford College. The camp is co-directed by University of Pennsylvania head coach Karin Brower Corbett and Haverford College head coach Lauren Wray.

Participants will benefit from the unique combination of education and exposure the Showcase Camp offers. Players get the educational opportunity to work closely with top-level college coaches and to receive detailed individual instruction, while also having the opportunity to showcase their abilities.

The camp staff will include current college coaches and players from the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, Haverford College, Hofstra University, Iona College, Temple University, Jacksonville University, Cal-Berkeley, the University of Delaware and many more.

The Girls Showcase Camp is hosted on Haverford College’s beautiful campus, and will serve as an opportunity to experience the day-to-day life of a college lacrosse player. Over the course of the camp the girls will participate in games and skill development sessions, but will also attend sessions on strength training, nutrition and the recruiting process.

THe unique education and exposure approach of the Camp has attracted high school players from across the country to showcase their talents and improve their game. One of those players is Caroline Collins, a rising senior from Illinois state power Glenbrook South High School, located in Glenview, Illinois. She has played lacrosse on the east coast before and is excited to be traveling back.

“I’m really excited to play at the top level and to go 110% every time I’m on the field. I am looking forward to doing something different, and to showcase my skills while still learning a lot about the game,” said Collins.

mAckenzie Day, a rising senior from Colorado powerhouse Cherry Creek High School, located a few miles south of Denver is also very eager to get to camp this Tuesday.

“I am excited to meet new people, bringing my game to the next level, and showcasing my talents to the camp staff. I am ready to compete on the east coast because of the more intense physical play,” said Day.

The sold-out camp will feature 120 players overall, in addition to the long distance campers, there will be also girls attending from up and down the east coast. The highly anticipated camp will help all attendees increase their level of play and positively impact their college recruiting process.
