Live blog on USA U-19 team vs. Philly at Radnor: Philly wins 15-14 on Rambo goal in OT

June 23, 2012 by Chris Goldberg

Phillylacrosse.com, Posted 6/23/12

Chris Goldberg is here at Radnor High for a special exhibition game between the USA U-19 National team and the Philadelphia Lacrosse Association All-Stars. The weather is perfect and the crowd is amazing for a Saturday night during the summer with a Phillies home game on tap and many people at the Jersey shore.

Team Philly's Carl Walrath (Haverford School, Virginia) turns the corner vs. USA defenseman Robert Enright (Massapequa, NY, Johns Hopkins) during Saturday's thriller

The USA squad looked impressive last week in downing a Long Island All-Star team, 12-4. This Philly squad has a number of players that were either alternates for the U-19 squad or missed the cutoff date and were not able to try out. There are no Pennsylvania players on the U-19 team, something not lost by some Philly lacrosse fans. The rosters are below; Philly just added attackman Kevin Forster (La Salle College, Maryland), who was a U-19 alternate and was not going to play in this game but later altered his schedule to be available.

The Philly team is being coached by Eric Gregg (St. Joseph’s Prep), Jef Hewlings (former Emmaus coach) and David Martin (former Germantown Acadermy coach). The USA squad is coached by Tim Flynn (Mountain Lakes, NJ).
