From Press Release
Registration remains open for the LAXZONE Philadelphia 3rd Annual Summer Series Lacrosse Clinic at SPARK fields in Upper Dublin.
The clinic and summer league is a specialized program designed for boys in middle school and high school who wish to develop their skills and lacrosse knowledge in a constructive, positive environment.
Each session will address skill development, Offense/Defense strategy and “Transition School” getting all players up and down the field. This program is recommended for entry and intermediate level players who wish to improve their game. The program is run by Archbishop Wood coach Jim Beury.
Summer Series is staffed by current/former collegiate players from the local area. Each coach is selected specifically to teach the skills they have developed at the collegiate level: dodging, shooting, stick protection, defensive positioning, checks and goalie play.
The program takes place on Upper Dublin’s SPARK fields on Monday and Wednesday, afternoons from June 18 – August 1. All players must be members of US Lacrosse.
Entering his 3rd year offering the Summer Series, Coach Beury is excited for another successful program: “we designed this program so the area player who, for whatever reason, is unable to play on a local or traveling club team, will have an opportunity to improve their game. In years past, the rewards have been terrific; many, many kids who have participated return to tell us how much the experience helped them gain confidence and secure a better position on their school team. It’s a real gift to work with these guys.”
