Boys’ youth lacrosse: West Chester wins CCLA U13A championship to cap perfect season

The West Chester U13 A Team defeated Collegeville, 11-3, on Tuesday night at USTC to take the Chester County Lacrosse Association U13A Championship game. West Chester completed a perfect 15-0 season with the victory over Collegeville.

West Chester champions: 1st row – David Schabdach, Matt Dunkel 2nd row – Archer Rymiszewski, Jake Floyd Jones, Jimmy Gabrielsen, Nick Mascetti, Matt Hilburn, Joe Saulino, Scottie White, Conner Heisman 3rd Row – Asst. Coach Sean Earley, Kyle Mullin, Asst. Coach Glenn White, Jon Earley JD Carroll, Aiden Diskin, Jordan Donaghy, Head Coach Scott Gabrielsen, CJ McAnally, Jack Phelan, Matt Erfle, Evan Amerine

This Championship game victory was the first for any West Chester team in over a decade. The West Chester offense was lead by midfielders Jordan Donaghy (1g, 1a), CJ McAnnally (2g), Jack Phelan (2g), Nick Mascetti (1a), Joe Saulino, Aiden Diskin, Matt Dunkel and Conner Heisman. The Attack helped control the ball and was led by Scotty White (3g, 1a) Jimmy Gabrielsen (1g, 1a) Matt Hilburn, 1g, 1a) and Archer Rymiszewski.

The aggressive and staunch defense was led by JD Carroll, Jonathan Earley, David Schabdach, Matt Erfle and Evan Amerine. The goaltending for West Chester in the first half was led by Kyle Mullin (6 saves) while Jake Floyd Jones finished up the game in the goal making four saves, respectively.

“This was a special group of kids and finishing the season undefeated was a great accomplishment for these boys.” said Scott Gabrielsen, who along with Glenn White and Shawn Earley coached the WC U13 A Team.

To get to the Championship West Chester defeated Abington 16-8 and BYC 11-5. West Chester averaged 11.08 goals per game while giving up only 2.83 per game.
