Warrior 40: La Salle junior Coleman becomes third from Philly to make roster

June 6, 2012 by Chris Goldberg

Phillylacrosse.com, Posted 6/6/12

Ten players – led by La Salle junior midfielder Sean Coleman – have been added to the ESPNHS warrior 40 competition, bringing the roster total to 29 confirmed athletes. The entire 40-man roster is expected to be completed over the next few weeks.

The Warrior 40 is a three-day competition that features the nation’s top underclass high school lacrosse players. Players will receive coaching from Major League Lacrosse stars and participate in skills competitions and a final competition.

This year’s competition takes place Aug. 13-15 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo.

Already it was announced that Coleman’s teammate, junior attackman Matt Rambo, and Abington junior defenseman Austin Pifani have been named to the competition.

The 10 additions include:

Sean Coleman, Jr., La Salle (Wyndmoor, Pa.), midfield, undecided

From Warrior 40: The shifty midfielder is a game changer and cannot be taken lightly. Along with La Salle teammate and future Warrior 40 teammate Matt Rambo, Coleman has helped La Salle to a POWERADE FAB 50 national rankingand the PIAA playoffs in 2012. Coleman is also a standout football player and his athleticism is apparent as he gets great separation on his dodges and can shoot on the run with ease.

Also: Coleman has recovered from a football-related injury to make a major contribution in helping the Explorers reach the PIAA finals for the third time in four years. La Salle plays Conestoga Saturday in the title game at HersheyPark Stadium.

Pete, Aplet, Jr., Wheat Ridge (Colo.), attack, Denver
Brian Dunne, Jr., Chaminade (Mineola, N.Y.), defense, Duke
Ian King, Jr., St. Xavier (Cincinnati, Ohio), attack, Michigan
Steve Larson, Jr., Chaparral (Scottsdale, Ariz.), midfield, UMBC
Hayes, McGinley, Jr., University School (Hunting Valley, Ohio), midfield, Syracuse
Daniel, Morris, Jr., Dallas Jesuit (Dallas,), goalie, Maryland
Jake Seau, Soph., Bishop’s School (San Diego, Calif.), midfield, Duke
Austin Shanks, Jr., Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.,), attack, Michigan
