Garnet Valley junior defender Julia McGrath has committed to play Division I lacrosse at the College of William and Mary.

Why did you choose W&M? “I chose William and Mary because of its well-respected academics and also for its competitive athletics. When I visited there, I felt at home and was very comfortable. I really look forward to playing for coaches Brooke Ireland and Sarah Mollison. They are so welcoming and supportive, and they are great coaches. I can’t wait to be part of the tribe!”
What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “First, we hope to finish this year by winning the State Championship again. Next year we will be losing some key players, but we have a lot of talent coming up and I expect us to be a strong competitor in the Central League. Hopefully, we will make it to the State playoffs again next year!”
Additional Comments: “First, I would like to thank my mom and dad for their continuous support throughout this process, for rides to practice and games, and for coming to every single game. Next, thank you to my sisters, Tori and Jackie, for helping me with everything and for their sense of humor.
