District 1 boys’ playbacks: CB East, Radnor advance to fifth-place consolation game for final state berth

Parker Self scored three goals and Harrison Holak made 18 saves as host Central Bucks East rallied past Abington, 13-11, tonight tonight in a District 1 boys’ lacrosse playback.

The Patriots (19-2) will face Radnor in a fifth-place game to qualify for states Thursday at a time to be determined. Radnor remained alive by edging Hatboro-Horsham, 6-5. Only five teams advance to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament this year.

Ryan Ambler had four goals and two assists and Matt Figueroa added three goals, one assist and five groundballs for the Ghosts, who held an 8-4 halftime lewad. East rpoared back with five unanswered goals in the third period.

Chris Vetter, Ethan Dubuque and Anthony Caselli each added two goals for the Pats. Travis O’Connor made 13 saves for Abington.

Radnor 6, Hatboro-Horsham 5

Ben Junior scored three goals and Brendan Manderack made 11 saves as the Red Raiders remained alive in the hunt for a state playoff berth.

Radnor (15-7) travels to CB East for the fifth-place showdown Thursday.
