The championship races begin to wind down this week as only two more weeks of the regular season remain for most leagues.

A game to watch for a championship-type feel is Thursday when Great Valley travels to fellow Ches-Mont leader Henderson to what basically amounts to a league title game.

This week’s rankings:

1, Moorestown (13-0) – The Quakers thrashed St. Paul’s (Md.), 16-8, after taking an 8-0 lead. Marie McCool had seven goals and Steph Toy added five goals and an assist. The Quakers host No. 4 Harriton on Friday. Prev: No. 1

2, Great Valley (13-0) – The Patriots have won their last eight games by at least 11 goals. They face Henderson Thursday in a Ches-Mont League showdown of unbeaten. Prev: No. 3

3, Garnet Valley (13-1) – The Jaguars struggled in a 15-5 loss to Virginia power St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes at Katie Samson. Last year after falling to Downingtown East by 10 goals in the District 1 playoffs they went on a tear and captured the state title. Prev: No. 2

4, Shawnee (9-1) – The Renegades have a big date Friday at Ridgwood. Prev: No. 6

5, Radnor (10-3) – The Red Raiders had a great week, topping, Haverford High and Harriton in the Central League and handling Episcopal Academy, 16-6, at Katie Samson. Prev: No. 8

6, Harriton (12-2) – The Rams rallied for a key 13-12 win over Archbishop Carroll at Katie Samson, taking the sting out of a 17-10 loss to Radnor on Thursday. Prev: No. 4

7, Springfield-Delco (10-2) – The Cougars have a big game Thursday at suddenly-hot Radnor. Prev: No. 5

8, Upper Dublin (10-1) – The Cardinals got a major scare Saturday at Katie Samson as Friends’ Central rallied before falling, 10-9. They can wrap up a fifth straight Suburban One American crown by sweeping four league games this week. Prev: No. 9

9, Conestoga (9-4) – The Pioneers are having an up and down year. Their latest up was a 15-4 conquest of Mount St. Joseph at Katie Samson. That came after an 11-9 loss to Strath Haven in the Central League. They play today at 15-0 Manheim Township. Prev: NR

10, Council Rock North (11-2) – The Indians can clinch the Suburban One National Conference title with wins over Pennsbury and Abington this week. Prev: NR

Honorable mention: Archbishop Carroll (8-6), Boyertown (12-4), Episcopal Academy (8-5), Germantown Friends (10-0), Hatboro-Horsham (10-2), Haverford High (11-3), Henderson (13-1), Merion Mercy (12-1), Notre Dame Academy (9-2), Strath Haven (6-6).
