Thursday’s boys’ roundup: Downingtown West, Downingtown East, Conestoga earn wins

Eric Rankel had four goals and won 14 of 18 face-offs to lead Downingtown West to a 15-7 win over host Great Valley today in a Ches-Mont League boys’ lacrosse game.

The Whippets improved to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the Ches-Mont. Great Valley dropped to 4-2 and 0-2.

Dylan Ikkala pumped in five goals for Downingtown West and Matt Logan added three while Tyler McWilliams had a goal and six assists. Eric Cuttic made eight saves.

Downingtown East 13, Bishop Shanahan 5

Aaron Murphy and Kyle Lauletta each had four goals to lead the Cougars (4-3, 3-0) to the Ches-Mont win.

Joe McErlean and Dylan Alderman each had two goals for the Eagles (4-1, 2-1).

Conestoga 12, Springfield-Delco 8

Jake Scott had four goals and an assist and Bradlee Lord had a goal and six assists while jared Jacobs won 15 of 19 face-offs to lead the Pioneers to the Central League win.

St. Augustine Prep 12, Ridgewood 6

Mike Sutton scored five goals and Steve Pontrello had four goals and two assists to pace the Hermits to the victory.

Sun Valley 7, West Chester East 5

Ryan France made 17 saves and Connor Johnson had two goals and an assist for the Vanguards in the non-league win.
