Monday’s boys’ roundup: Holy Ghost, Penncrest, Radnor earn victories

Brett Incollingo had six caused turnovers and eight ground balls and Andrew Montemarano had three caused turnovers and four ground balls to lead the Holy Ghost Prep defense in a 9-0 blanking of host Council Rock North today in non-league boys’ lacrosse.

Goalies Greg Price (eight saves) and Ryan McCormick (three saves) combined on the shutout for the Firebirds, who are 4-0.

Freshman Michael Major had the first three-goal game of his career and was the only Ghost player with more than one goal. Tyler Bielecki had two assists, while Constantine Konugres also had two points on a goal and an assist. T.J. Romano, Jeremy Omrod, Kevin Moses, Ryan Kovacevich and John Motto each scored once for Ghost.

Council Rock North (1-4) got a fine effort from goalie Mark McDonald, who had 14 saves.

Penncrest 13, Sun Valley 3

Zach Kruzel scored three goals and Matt Klodarska added two goals and three assists for the Lions in the non-league win.

Ryan France had 10 saves for the Vanguards.

Radnor 17 Archbishop Carroll 4

Ben Junior pumped in four goals and Peter Donato had two goals and an assist for the Red Raiders.

Adam Baer 17 posted saves for Carroll.

Lower Merion 10, Churchill (Md.) 7

Tyler Kopen scored three goals and Chris Daly had two goals and two assists while Eli Newschaffer made 13 saves as the Aces earned their first win of the year.

Archbishop Ryan 14, Bishop Egan 8

Tim Taylor had five goals and an assist while Kevin Nelms had three goals and two assists as Ryan toppled Bishop Egan.
