Thursday’s girls’ HS highlights: Garnet Valley remains undefeated; NP, Wissahickon, UD prevail

AnnaElise Morello had four goals and an assist and Ashley Pyle added three goals and one assist as visiting Garnet Valley toppled Strath Haven, 12-6, Thursday in Central League girls’ lacrosse.

Halley Barnes added two goals and two assists for the Jaguars (3-0, 2-0), who are ranked No. 1 in the PA Media Rankings. Kate Stroup had nine saves and Lizahn Visser and Coley Ricci led the defense.

North Penn 15, Central Bucks East 5

Brenda McDermott scored five goals and Rachel Shaw added four for the Maidens in the Suburban One Continental Conference win.

Wissahickon 18, Plymouth Whitemarsh 10

Lauren Frankenfield had six goals and two assists, Zoe Gomez had four goals and two assists and Zoe Kale tallied four goals and added an assist for the Trojans in the Suburban One American Conference trimph.

Springside 19, Jenkintown 7

Libbie Maine collected seven goals and an assist to lead Springside to the win.

Tori Contoudis had two goals and an assist for the Drakes while Sarah Dillon scored twice.

Upper Dublin 19, Cheltenham 8

Brook Callahan scored five goals and Kelly Cross added four goals and one assist to lead the cards to the Suburban One American win. Emily Hitchings added three goals and three assists and
Julie Cross scored three goals for UD.

Allison Hawkins had two goals and two assists for the Panthers.

Upper Merion 12, Norristown 7

Haley Fitzgerald and Dominique Gambone each scored three goals and the Vikings got 19 saves from Ally Frymoyer in the Suburban One American Conference victory.

Beverly Pate had five goals for the Eagles.

Barrack HA 18, Collegium Charter 3

Dani Levin poured in eight goals and Tamar Parmet had six to help Barrack coast to the Tri-County win.


Merion Mercy 14, Archbishop Wood 6

Caroline Corzel netted four goals and Julianne D’Orazio had three goals and three caused turnovers for the Bears in the non-league win.

Alyssa Andress scored four goals and Leah Check had 17 saves for Wood.

Great Valley 13, Spring-Ford 4

Emily Scullen and Ali Karwoski scored five goals apiece to lead the Patriots to the non-league triumph.

Maddie Ward scored two goals and Cassidy Novotny was strong by posting 18 saves for the Rams.

Manheim Township 15, Penn Manor 10

Molly Hendrick had six goals and one assist and Devon Schneider added five goals as the Blue Streaks (2-0) won the Lancaster-Lebanon game.
