Thursday’s boys’ HS highlights: Garnet Valley tops Strath Haven; Conestoga coasts

Robert Raucci led a balanced attack with three goals and three assists as host Garnet Valley toppled Strath Haven, 15-5, Thursday night in Central League boys’ lacrosse.

Matt Taulane added three goals for the Jaguars (4-0, 2-0), while Vail Urso contributed two goals and two assists and Zach Penfil won 13 of 15 face-offs.

Steve Brodeur was the standout for the Panthers (2-1, 1-1), making 15 saves and also scoring the game’s first goal. Will Ohley added two goals.

Conestoga 14, Upper Darby 2

Chris Brady had three goals and an assist and Pierre Atkinson scored twice for the Pioneers.

Radnor 12, Lower Merion 6

Shane Shapiro had three goals and one assist while Dan Maxwell (one assist), Ben Junior and Peter Donato each scored twice as the Red Raiders coasted past the Aces.

Interboro 13, Monsignor Bonner 3

Payl Fagan scored four goals and Brian Van Wyk added three goals and an assist while Dan Hopson had two assists and 10 groundballs and Steve Lee 10 saves for the Bucs in the non-league win.

Archbishop Wood 11, Council Rock North 5

Chris Rahill had three goals and an assist and Anthony Dougherty had a goal and five groundballs while Colin Durnin posted 12 saves for the Vikings.

Springfield-Delco 9, Harriton 4

Vince Marra had three goals and two assists and Chris Martin scored three goals while Mark Gurenlian won 8 of 9 face-offs to pace the Cougars to the Central league win.

Zach Fink scored twice for the Rams.

Plymouth Whitemarsh 6, Upper Moreland 3

Nick Swift had two goals and one assists and Andrew Sabia made 18 saves for the Colonials. Matt McGlinsey made 17 stops for the Golden Bears (0-1, 2-1).
