Eric Warden (Garnet Valley) had three goals and an assist to lead visiting Fairfield to a 15-9 win over Lafayette today in men’s lacrosse.

Gordie Wells (La Salle) had two groundballs and defenseman Reed Marko (Germantown Academy) added a groundball for the Stags, who are 7-0 and ranked No. 13. in the nation.

Cory Scheuerle (St. Joseph’s Prep) paced the Leopards with three goals, fellow freshman Brian Bock (Spring-Ford) had an assist and four groundballs and Rob FitzPatrick (Episcopal Academy) had a groundball and Andrijko Andrusko (Holy Ghost Prep) had nine saves in one half of action (eight goals allowed).

Bucknell 12, Drexel 11

Jackson Place (Episcopal Academy) led Bucknell’s defense with two groundballs and two caused turnovers as the Bison downed the Dragons.

Aaron Prossser led the Dragons with three goals and two assists.

Eastern's A.J. Ryan (Phoenixville grad) wins a face-off in Tuesday's win

Division III
Eastern 12, Utica 6

After starting the year with four straight road tilts, Eastern opened the home portion of its schedule with a non-league game against a high-scoring Utica squad. The Eagles grabbed a 3-0 lead in the opening minutes and never looked back.

Eastern (3-2) entered the day’s competition knowing that the pressure would be on its defense to slow a Utica attack that had scored 18 times in each of its first two games. Eastern goalie Pat Groschen picked up the win with 12 solid stops, but it was the work of his poles in front that kept the Pioneer offense off balance all day. Ben Swan, Jon Pacitto, and Jordan Norris combined for 12 ground balls and six caused turnovers in the Eastern end.

Grant Ferguson led Eastern with two goals and an assist.
