Lafayette sophomore midfielder Ana White (Strath Haven) has been named the Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Midfield Player of the Week after scoring seven times over a two-game span last week against Wagner and No. 17 Penn State.
In Lafayette’s 18-7 victory over Wagner, White led the team with four goals and two assists. A native of Swarthmore, Pa., White collected two ground balls and controlled seven draws in the 11-goal win. After her six-point performance, White found the back of the cage three times in the matchup with Penn State. She also had a game-high eight draw controls in the contest.
White, a Biology major and reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Year, earns her third career Midfielder of the Week recognition. Her third award, which was established prior to the 2011 season, ties her with Colgate’s Courtney Miller for the most in a career.
Lafayette travels to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on Wednesday to take on Marist at 4 p.m.
