Team 302 Tryouts for high school boys (who missed the first tryout in October) will be held Feb 19th from 1-3 pm OR Feb. 26 from 1-3 p.m. at The Independence School on 1300 Paper Mill Rd., Newark, DE, 19711. Players need to attend only one tryout.

Philly Boys’ Under Armour Underclassmen Games tryouts, from 5-to-8 p.m., June 13 and 14 at Radnor High. The Philly team will be coached by Brian Samson, who has guided Conestoga to two straight Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) championships. His assistants will be Pat McDonough (Penn Charter), Tom Lemieux (Springfield-Delco) and Mike Friel (former coach at Springfield-Delco).
The 10-team tournament will be held June 29-July 1. In addition to the Philly teams, squads will come from Baltimore, Long Island, Midwest, New England, New Jersey, South, Upstate NY and Washington, D.C. and West. The Third annual Battle of Fort Washington Lacrosse tournament, hosted by Upper Dublin’s rooked Crosse Lacrosse Club, March 10-11 at the SPARK all weather fields in Upper Dublin, PA. The tournament will feature boys’ youth lacrosse teams from across the tri-state area. The tournament will consist of four boys’ divisions, A1 & A2 (7/8th grade) and B1 & B2 5/6th grade teams. Each team is guaranteed a minimum 2-game, 25-minute running halves. The A Divisions will be played Saturday, March 10 with B Division beginning Sunday, March 11.

Mad Hatters Lax Invitational, boys’ and girls’ tourneys that feature only JV high school teams. The tournaments will be hosted at Dennis Landis Memorial Park on Lower State Road in North Wales. Ninth Annual Liberty Lacrosse Shootout, a boys’ youth lacrosse festival, June 9-10, at the Greater Chester Valley Soccer Association’s Line Road Complex, Malvern. The Liberty Shootout has become one of the most popular youth festivals in the Mid-Atlantic region, drawing teams Greater Philadelphia, Central PA, the Lehigh Valley, New Jersey and neighboring hotbeds within a few hours’ drive. Over 100 teams and 2500 youth players are expected to participate. Warrior has been the principal sponsor of the Shootout for 7 years.
Liberty is a day tournament, with U-9 and U-13 teams playing on Saturday and U-11 and U-15 teams playing on Sunday. Teams can register to play in either A or B brackets, though all U-9 teams play in one bracket on smaller-sized fields (7 v 7), often generating the most noise. Teams will play at least 3 games in diverse pools within their respective age groups. The competition is strong at each level, rules are designed to ensure games remain competitive; pool winners advance in a playoff format.
Additionally, teams in each age group will be recognized for sportsmanship based largely on sportsmanship scorecards kept by certified officials and site marshals after each game, taking into account the spirit of the game and conduct on both sides of the field, including spectators. The 5th Annual Patriot Games Youth Lacrosse Showcase, July 21-22, at 3 venues in Bucks County, Pennsylvania – Herbst Field Complex, home of the Central Bucks Athletic Association, Palisades High School, and New-Hope Solebury High School. The event has teams from al traditional hotbeds and has drawn talented contingents from Canada and emerging regions of the country, including California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin. Past events have also included “Bridge” programs from Baltimore and Philadelphia. This year, the Patriot Games has been selected by NDP Lacrosse as an “Official Qualifying Event” for the Dick’s Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions, which will take place outside of Tampa in January 2013. Top finishing teams in selected divisions will earn bids to join other top club teams from around the nation to compete in the high profile, national championship event.
The Patriot Games offers Youth and High School brackets. Youth brackets (U11, U13, U15) are broken down into 3 divisions (AA, A and B) to ensure teams are playing at the appropriate level and to optimize competition. High School brackets feature A & B divisions and consist of JV/Rising Stars (Rising Freshmen/Class of 2016; Rising Sophomores/Class of 2015) and Varsity/Elite (Rising Seniors/Class of 2013 or younger). Villanova University Overnight Instructional Camp, July 10-13, for athletes aged 11-to-17 that are interested in improving their basic skills and learning the techniques of lacrosse. The camp will be divided into a two junior divisions (11- and 12-year olds and 13- and 14- year-olds) and a senior division (15-to-17). The entire Villanova University Men’s Lacrosse staff as well as local high school coaches and many of the best current college players will be coaching. The highly skilled and beginners will benefit from the college and high school coaches who teach at the camp.
