From Press Release

Philadelphia Wings Team Captain Brodie Merrill will start at transition for the East Division in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) All-Star game later this month.

Brodie Merrill

Now a six-time All-Star, this season Merrill has scored two goals and recovered 40 loose balls in four games, good for third best in the league. Merrill was acquired by the Wings late in 2011 when he was traded with Mike McLellan and Dean Hill from the Edmonton Rush for Athan Iannucci, Brodie McDonald and Alex Turner.

In his five career All-Star appearances, Merrill has scored one goal, tallied five assists and recovered 40 loose balls.

The East and West All-Star team starting lineups were selected by a vote of NLL fans, the league’s general managers and head coaches, as well as members of the media. The remaining 24 selections for the All-Star teams will be announced later this week.

The 2012 NLL All-Star Game will take place on Saturday, February 25 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, home of the Buffalo Bandits.

The Wings will be back in action versus the Buffalo Bandits Sunday, Feb. 12 at 4 p.m. at Wells Fargo Center.

Tickets for all Wings home games are available by calling 215-389-WING or online at WingsLAX.com.
