Men’s recruit: Episcopal Academy junior midfielder Strain commits to Lehigh

Episcopal Academy junior midfielder Ian Strain has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Lehigh University.

College Choice: Lehigh University

Club Affiliation: Duke’s Lacrosse Club

Major lacrosse honors: 2010/2011 Philly Showcase Gait All-Star, 2011 Philly Showcase MVP, 2nd Team All-Inter-Ac, All Delco Hon. Mention, 2011 Team MVP, 2011 EPSLA Showcase, ESPN Rise 2013 watch list

Academic honors: Honor Roll all semesters, Buckley Scholarship Award Winner, Project HOME in Philadelphia.

What will you major in/study?
Pre-Med, Business or Engineering

Why did you choose school?
“Lehigh is a team that, with good recruiting classes in my year, and the age above, has a lot of potential. Coach (Kevin) Cassese really made me feel like Lehigh was the right fit for me academically and athletically. I am looking forward to playing under Coach Cassese in the Patriot League and going up against some of the best teams in the country all season long.”

Outlook for HS team in spring season: “We are a senior-heavy team that brings backs lot of talent and experience at all positions. With who we have coming back this year we are expecting to make a run.”

Other comments: “I want to thank My parents, my school coaches including Coach (Andy) Hayes, Coach (Marty) Kupprion, Coach (Will) Gibbs, and Coach (Bryan) McDermott as well as my Duke’s coaches Jason Christmas and Ebe Helm, and Coach Cassese and Coach (Brendan) Callahan of Lehigh.”
