Women’s recruit: Downingtown West senior midfielder Fluharty commits to Christopher Newport

Downingtown West senior midfielder Shannon Fluharty has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Christopher Newport University (Va.).

Club Affiliation: PA Express

Major lacrosse honors: Varsity Letter 10th -12th grade; Attended Rising Junior Camp at University of Maryland.

Academic honors: National Honor Society, Quest Therapeutic Services Volunteer

What will you major in/study? Environmental Sciences

Why did you choose school? “CNU has the academic opportunities I was looking for in a school, a well-respected lacrosse program, as well as being conveniently close to the beach.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “I think Girls’ West Lacrosse is going to have a very strong team this coming season. We have the ability to be a top contender in the Ches-Mont League. There are a lot of talented girls that when working together can’t be stopped.”
