Men’s recruit: Villanova gets commitment from Hunterdon Central (N.J.) junior midfielder Tortoriello

Hunterdon Central (N.J.) junior midfielder Nick Tortoriello has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Villanova University.

Academic honors: District Honor Roll, Member of the Teen Prevention Education Program

What will you major in/study?
Business/Finance

Why did you choose school? “I chose Villanova because I believe it provides the full package. It has an awesome lacrosse program that is extremely competitive, has a variety of academic opportunities, and the campus is really nice.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “Our goal for next year is to return to the state championship final except this time, we plan to win it. We have a lot of guys returning so we’ll be a team with experience. We hope that experience carries into the season and leads to our success.”

Other comments: “I want to thank my high school head coach, Coach Mike Vergalito; my club coach and his brother, Coach Chris and Tim Roy, and my family for their constant support and effort. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am now.”
