Allentown Central Catholic senior attackman Steve Mussoline has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Ursinus College.

Steve Mussoline log:

Steve Mussoline

High School: Allentown Central Catholic High School

Graduation year: 2012

Position: Attack

College Choice: Ursinus College

Club Affiliation: Rebel Elite Lacrosse

Major lacrosse honors: All LVC Honors 2011, Led the Lehigh Valley Conference in scoring sophomore and junior year; led Philly region in goals in 2011 (74) and had 109 points overall.

Academic honors: Honor Roll, community service hours, Special Olympics, Best Buddies and Down Syndrome Walk.

What will you major in/study? Exercise and Sports Science

Why did you choose school? “I chose Ursinus for many reasons. First, the campus and the school’s atmosphere were very impressive. Academically, Ursinus offers me a great opportunity for success and the school has a strong sense of pride. I also loved the small campus and that it is located close to Philadelphia. Finally, I was very impressed with the coaching staff and I am excited to be part of the Ursinus lacrosse program.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “I think we will be pretty good this year. We lost a few key seniors from last year but we are rebuilding and hoping for some underclassmen to step up. We made it to states last year and won the first District Championship for ACHHS. I want to win districts again and make a run at a state championship this year. I think we can get there with hard work and determination.”

Other comments: “I want to thank all of my coaches I have had throughout the years; High School coaches – Dan Dolphin, Jason Hubble, Joe Derkits. And my Rebel Elite coaches – Harry Sankey, Ryan Sankey and Harry Sankey Jr. I also want to take this opportunity to thank my parents and family for all their support and being there for me throughout the entire recruiting process.”
