Garnet Valley junior attackman Robert Raucci has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at St. Joseph’s University.
Raucci is the first in his class to commit for recently-hired coach Taylor Wray.

Lacrosse honors: Honorable Mention All-Delco, Honorable Mention All-Central League, EPSLA Showcase, Top 205, Brine Shootout, 41 goals as a sophomore, broke the school record with nine goals in a game.
Expected Major: Business
Why did you choose St. Joseph’s? “I went down there and loved the campus. Coach (Taylor) Wray and the Keating brothers (assistants Dan and Mike) are very committed to making St. Joe’s a contender. Another thing that I like about St. Joe’s is it’s not far from home.”
What is your high school team’s outlook for next year? “I think that everyone has very high expectations. I think we can definitely contend for a state championship. Everyone on the team is really good friends, which I think will help us.”

Also, I would to thank my Mesa coaches: Coach (John) Sims, Coach Larry DiSipio, and Mr. (Kevin) Rudd. I want to thank my trainer, Paul Deniken. Also, I would like to thank my Mom and Dad, and especially my brother Jules (senior, committed to Drexel), who I love playing with. Everytime I practice with him he makes me a better player; I will miss playing with him.”
