Germantown Academy junior defenseman Bradley Garcia has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Stony Brook University.

Bradley Garcia log:

Bradley Garcia

High School: Germantown Academy

Graduation Year: 2013

Position: Defenseman

College Choice: Stony Brook

Club Affiliation: Twist

Major lacrosse honors: MVP for Rampage Lacrosse 2009, Sweet Laxin Champions, Battle of Valley Forge Champions, Hogan’s Heroes Champions, Top 205 Rising Sophomores, Invited to Warrior Diamond Lacrosse Showcase, Philly Showcase, 2010-11.

Academic honors: High Honors, GA Community Scholar, Commendations in Foreign Language and Physical Education, Volunteer basketball coach for Central Bucks Youth League

What will you major in/study? Engineering

Why did you choose school? “Academically, Stony Brook is a strong school with a great Engineering School. Coach (Jim) Nagel and coach Watkins and the team were really welcoming on my visit. I like the defensive philosophy at Stony Brook and I felt it was a great fit. Also, the lacrosse atmosphere is exciting.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next year? “GA had a great year in 2011 and lost a lot of talent and leadership through graduation. We have a lot of returning players who will step up and younger players looking to make an impact. Our goal every year is an Inter-Ac championship.”

Other comments: “I want to thank Twist coaches Jack Devlin and especially Mike Lavin, who has been coaching me since youth lacrosse. I also want to than (GA) coach (David) Martin and the GA lacrosse staff, my teammates and my parents – especially my mom, who has been a big help with everything.”
