Germantown Academy rising senior midfielder Greg Shildkrout has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Dickinson College.
Shildkrout helped GA finish 14-5 in 2011.He was a Philly Showcase Gait Fab 40 pick in 2009 and 2010 and participated in Top 205, Blue Chip 225 and Peak 200. He also plays for the Duke’s Lacrosse Club.
Shildkrout plans to major in Economics or History at Dickinson, which won the Centennial Conference crown (17-2 overall) and reached the NCAA quarterfinals in 2011 under Dave Webster.
“It has great academics, high level lacrosse is in a great conference and is far enough away but is still close to home,” he said. “My family can see me play and Coach Webster will be a great mentor.”
Shildkrout is the fourth GA rising senior to commit to pay college lacrosse. Others are attackman Reid Weber (Lehigh), attackman Billy Oppenheimer (Quinnipiac) and midfielder Connor Crump (Amherst).
“We lost a lot of senior leadership, but we still have a good core of players,” he said. “We will compete for the Inter-Ac championship.”
Shildkrout wished to thank GA coach David Martin and the Duke’s L.C. coaches as well as his family.
