Avon Grove rising senior midfielder Brendan Fabian has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Drexel University.

Avon Grove's Brendan Fabian has committed to Drexel

Fabian was a First Team Ches-Mont League pick in 2011 when he helped the Red Devils finish 17-4 and advance to the quarterfinals of the District 1 tournament. Fabian, who was picked for the EPSLA Showcase this June, plays club lacrosse for Team 302.

“I chose Drexel because it is close to home, has great academics, and a great lacrosse program,” he said.

Fabian is the eighth Philly rising senior to commit to Drexel. Others are Drexel’s Mike McGregor and Jordan Klunder (midfielders) and Miles Thomas (LSM), Radnor’s Mike Barnes (face-off specialist), Holy Ghost Prep’s Jeremy Omrod (midfielder), Garnet Valley’s Jules Raucci (attackman) and Bishop Shanahan’s Chris Panichelli (defenseman).

Fabian said Avon Grove will reload for 2012 after its most successful season in school history.

“Next year Avon Grove will be a young team,” Fabian said. “We only have a handful of seniors, but we have a lot of young talent.”

Fabian wished to thank all of his coaches, from youth through high school and club.
