Staff Report

Beloit College (WI) men’s lacrosse coach Bob Dignazio (Strath Haven) has announced the hiring of Lower Merion graduate Nate Pritchard as assistant coach.

Pritchard joins the Buccaneers staff after an impressive playing career at Kenyon College. As a senior in 2008, he captained the Lords with Dignazio. They led the squad to a 10-4 record, a national ranking as high as No. 19, and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Pritchard capped the season by earning a First Team All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors. He was also selected to play in the USILA North-South All-Star Game, in which he tallied a goal and an assist.

Pritchard finished his collegiate career as a three-time All-NCAC selection and played in two NCAA Tournaments. A two-sport athlete as well, Pritchard captained the Kenyon soccer team in 2008, was a three-time All-Ohio soccer selection, and earned a spot on the All-NCAC soccer team as a sophomore and senior.

Pritchard, who played club lacrosse for the Duke’s L.C., earned a Bachelor of Arts in French Area Studies from Kenyon in 2008. Upon graduation, he taught English and played semiprofessional soccer in Lampang, Thailand.

Dignazio, a former assistant at Kenyon, was hired in June to launch the Beloit program at the Division III level. It begins play in the spring in 2013.

“I am confident that Nate’s work ethic and personality will allow us to attract recruits from around the country and establish a strong team culture here at Beloit,” said Dignazio. “He knows what it takes to be a successful athlete at the college level, and I am very excited to begin working with him.”
