The Philly Fever 8th grade Orange squad recently concluded a very successful summer season.

The Fever, comprised of rising freshmen and based in Haverford, ended the year with a 15-3 record. The team played in three of the top tournaments in the region, placing second twice and third once.

The Philly Fever Orange 8th Grade team posted a 15-3 record this summer

The Fever started the summer season at the Summer Slam hosted by Episcopal Academy, where it ran off five straight victories to reach the finals. In the championship game the Fever faced an All Star Team from Charlotte, N.C., and kept it close before falling late in the game.

At the All Met event in Bethesda, Md., the Fever went 5-0 against clubs from Virginia and Maryland before losing 7-5 to Club Blue in the championship game. At the recent Patriot Games the Fever lost a brave heart opening round game to the Orlando Select squad from Florida, and then won two more in pool play.

The loss put the Fever in the consolation bracket where it won two straight, placing third. Playing in the top U15 division in every event the Fever provided a glimpse of some upcoming talent for schools like Haverford School, Radnor, Ridley, Springfield, Lower Merion, and Ridley.

The team was coached by Erick Blindenbacher, Scott Ertel, and Stocky Euler.

Players include attackmen Tom Higgins, Shane & Tucker McBride, Keith & Zach White, Jonah Tate; midfielders Jake Hervada, Paddy Black, Colin Duffy, Brendan Jacob, Lane Odom, Peter Rohr, Drew Supinski and Dan Wasson; defenders Logan Atkinson, Jake Crowther, Jack Doran, Ben Euler, Alex Masino, Davis Wasson; and goaltenders Josh Cherry, Eli Avart and Alex Anderson.
