Philly women shooting for spots on U.S. national senior team

The second round of tryouts for the 2012 U.S. women’s national senior team are being held at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in Catonsville, Md. Friday through Sunday.

The tryout roster was narrowed down after the first round of tryouts held Memorial Day weekend in Stony Brook, N.Y., in conjunction with the US Lacrosse Women’s Division National Tournament.

Seventy-eight former and current college players from 30 schools made the cut for this weekend’s final evaluation. The players will be evaluated over the three-day tryout in drill and scrimmage sessions.

The final roster will be announced after the conclusion of the tryout, July 31. Philly players are in bold.
