Philly’s Trimble (Episcopal Ac.), Murray (Downingtown East) and USA U19 team gear for FIL Championships in Germany

The U.S. women’s national under-19 team kicked off its training camp today as it gears for the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) U19 Women’s World Championship in Hannover, Germany Aug. 3-13.

The squad has two Philly players, captain and midfielder Taylor Trimble (recent Episcopal Academy grad) and goalie Allie Murray (recent Downingtown East grad).

Training camp, located at Cedar Lane Regional Park in Bel Air, Md., began with an exhibition game versus NEMS Lacrosse. An instructional clinic with Team USA players will be held Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and a final exhibition game Friday against MD United will start at 7:30 p.m.

After training camp, Team USA looks to defend its world championship and bring home the gold. The Americans are scheduled to play five games in round-robin play Aug. 3-9 and then play in the championship or consolation bracket Aug. 10-12.

Aug. 6 – Haudenosaunee (10 a.m.)
Aug. 7 – England (3 p.m.)

Aug. 10 – Quarterfinal Round (TBA)
Aug. 12 – Semifinal Round (TBA)
Aug. 13 – Bronze Medal Game (Noon); Gold Medal Game (3:30 p.m.)
