Hill School defenseman Graham Conlan has committed to Michigan

Conlan helped Hill School finish 8-8 and reach the second round of the Inter-Ac Invitational while placing second in the Mid-Atlantic Prep League.

Conlan, of Mohnton, PA, was named an all-star at Blue Chip 225 in 2010. he plays club lacrosse for Twist Black.

Michigan is moving up to NCAA Division 1 status this year after being a dominant team in the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association. Conlan is one of the first players to commit to Michigan since it announced the move on May 25.

Conlan plans to go into business and intends to study Economics.

The first school to recruit Conlan was Bucknell University, which is where he met assistant coach Judd Lattimore. The two bonded instantly. Recently, Lattimore was hired as an assistant at Michigan, which is what led Conlan to take interest in the school.

“Coach Lattimore and I have a really close relationship,” Conlan said. “When he transferred there, he gave me a call and brought me out to Michigan, and I just loved the campus. It was unreal.

“From all the schools I was looking at, academics was top priority there,” added Conlan.

Conlan is the second Hill School rising senior to commit to a Division I school. Goalie Duncan Saunders committed to North Carolina earlier in the year.

Conlan said his Blues hope to contend for the MAPL title in 2012.

“We’re pretty much concentrated on winning the MAPL championship and beating Lawrenceville,” said Conlan.
