Fairfield head coach Mike Waldvogel announced the addition of 11 student-athletes to the Stags Class of 2015.
Meghan Bonner (Newtown, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie), Kayla Arnold (Bay Shore, N.Y.), Katie Carroll (Arnold, Md.), Lauren Casadonte (East Northport, N.Y.), Courtney Chmil (Garden City, N.Y.), Lauren Engelke (Garden City, N.Y.), Kelly Fenton (Bridgewater, N.J.), Anne Guglielmoni (Stratford, Conn.), Jamie Leone (Massapequa Park, N.Y.), Sarah Millard (Iswich, Mass.) and Brynn Raffensperger (Bethesda, Md.) will begin competition for the Stags in the 2012 spring season.
“We are excited to welcome this talented group of student-athletes into the Fairfield lacrosse family,” said Waldvogel. “They each bring unique attributes that will benefit not only our program, but our University as well, and I look forward to watching them grow as people and players.”
Bonner is a 5-foot-4 midfielder that graduated from Villa Joseph Marie where she has been named to the Athletic Association of Catholic Academies All-League Team, as well as earning All-League honors in soccer. She plays for the Ultimate Goal Blue Club Team and plans to study nursing.
Arnold is a 5-foot-4 defender that has led Bay Shore High School to three consecutive Division titles and was named a 2011 All-Country and All-Division Defender. Her club lacrosse team is the Yellow Jackets with whom she earned All-Galaxy Team honors in 2009 and 2010.
Carroll is a 5-foot-3 senior at Severn School, where she has been a four-year starter that will play both on the attack and in the midfield. She also played for the Maryland United Lacrosse Club Team.
Casadonte is a 5-foot-4 defender that is finishing her scholastic career at Half Hollow Hills High School West. She is a two-time captain and led the squad in ground balls in 2009 and 2010. She plays her club lacrosse for Long Island Express Blue.
Chmil is a 5-foot-8 midfielder that tallied 81 points for Our Lady of Mercy Academy as a junior, fourth-best among Long Island Private/Catholic Schools. She began her senior season as a two-time All-State honoree and with 221 career points. Chmil, who is also a four-year letterwinner in soccer, played her club lacrosse for the Long Island Yellow Jackets.
Engelke is a 5-foot-6 attack that attends Garden City High School, which has won five consecutive state crowns. She plays her club lacrosse for Long Island Express.
Fenton is a 5-foot-7 senior that attends Bridgewater Raritan High School and will play attack and midfield. She was named Third-Team All-State during her junior season, as well as having earned First Team All-Skyland Conference and First-Team All-Area. Fenton plays her club lacrosse for Steps Elite Blue.
Guglielmoni is a 5-foot-4 midfielder that earned four varsity letters at Bunnell High School. A senior captain, she finished her career with a school-record 115 goals as well as the single-season mark of 47 tallies. Guglielmoni earned First-Team All-Southwest Conference accolades this spring and earned 11 SWC All-Conference Academic Team selections over the course of her scholastic career.
Leone is a 5-foot-6 attack that has helped Farmingdale High School to back-to-back Division I State titles. A starting attack on those two squads she was named both All-County and All-Long Island. Leone also plays for the nation’s top-ranked club team in 2009, Long Island Yellow Jackets, and earned All-Galaxy Team accolades.
Millard is a 6-foot attack that attends Ipswich High School where she served as team captain during the 2011 season. She also plays for Revolution Lacrosse in club competition.
