District 1 girls’ lacrosse: Karwoski scores 7 goals to lead Great Valley past Boyertown, 17-15

Ali Karwoski fired in seven goals to lead second-seeded Great Valley to a 17-15 victory over Boyertown today in the District 1 girls’ lacrosse quarterfinals at West Chester East.

The Patriots (19-1) advanced to the semifinals Tuesday and will meet No. 3 Garnet Valley at Henderson at 6 p.m. Garnet Valley advanced by defeating Council Rock North, 15-6. Boyertown faces Council Rock North in a playback Tuesday at a site and time to be determined.

Emily Scullin added three goals for Great Valley while Brooke Gamble and Caitlin Kratzer each scored twice.

Rachel Engler led the Bears with four goals while Kelly Furman had two goals and three assists and Devyn Heidelbaugh, Amanda Smith and Lauren Mengel each had two goals
