Wednesday’s girls’ roundup: Friends’ Central reaches Friends League title game; Trimble tallies nine as EA advances to PA Independent finals

Four assists while Emma Dahle contributed three goals and two assists to spark host Friends’ Central to a 12-7 victory over Moorestown Friends (N.J.) in the semifinals of the Friends Schools League championships Wednesday.

The top-seeded Phoenix (9-6-1) advance to play Germantown Friends in the finals Friday at Friends’ Central at 4 p.m.

The title game matchup is a repeat of last year’s finals when Friends’ Central toppled Germantown Friends, 13-2.

The Phoenix led, 8-5, at halftime and got seven saves from Aubrey Faggen and one goal from Kate Forrest.

Alex Burris and Chandler Hart-McGonigle each scored two goals for Moorestown Friends.

Independent School Championships
Episcopal Academy 18, Hill School 5

Taylor Trimble poured in nine goals as EA (13-4) raced to an 11-3 halftime lead and coasted to the semifinal victory in the Pennsylvania Independent School Athletic Association (PAISAA) tournament.

The win advanced top-seeded EA into the title game Saturday at Eastern University at 3 p.m. vs. the winner of today’s game between Penn Charter and Baldwin School.

MC Curran added two goals and three assists for EA while Blake McHugh had two goals and two assists. Lindsey Reder made nine saves in goal.

Callie Francis and Megan Kelly led Hill School with two goals each.

Interboro 11, Penn Wood 5

Alison Killian scored five goals and Brianna Golden had two goals and three assists while Breezie Latham made seven saves to lift the Bucs as they finished the Del-Val season with an undefeated mark.

Sierra Marsh tallied four goals for the Patriots, while goalie Brianna Dudley made 20 saves.
