Boys’ lacrosse: Plymouth Whitemarsh, CB East wrap up perfect Suburban One seasons; Hill wins in OT

Colin Joka had four goals and two assists and Andre Cox scored three goals Wednesday as host Plymouth Whitemarsh closed out a perfect season in the Suburban One American Conference by blanking Norristown, 10-0.

The Colonials, who won their first-ever league title, finished 12-0 in the conference and improved to 13-3 overall.

Gryphin Kelly won 9 of 12 face-offs and scored once while Craig Lowery had a goal and an assist, and Pat McKee scored once. Nick Swift added three assists and Andrew Sabia (four saves) earned the win.

“This year we had a group of kids that were enthusiastic and committed to playing lacrosse,” saiod PW coach Phil Chang. “We have kids with good character that are coachable, respectful, and committed to improving. Our coaching staff has really enjoyed working with this group of kids as they come to lacrosse everyday with a good attitude and willingness to work hard.

“We are excited about winning our first league title. We have been on the doorstep for the last few years and to finally win one is very exciting for our team and program. We are proud to share this with all of our alumni, family, and community members who have helped us get to this point.”

Central Bucks East 18, Souderton 3

Ryan Whitney had four goals and two assists and Chris Vetter added three goals and two assists while Warren Kuhn and Parker Self each had two goals and one assist to lead the Patriots to the easy win and a perfect 12-0 finish in the Suburban One Continental Conference.

The Pats (17-1 overall) finished the year with 17 consecutive victories after opening with a defeat to Allentown Central Catholic.

Hill School 11, Hun School 10, OT

Ted Wolter scored the game-winner in overtime for the Blues, who finished the regular season at 7-7l and 3-2 in the Mid-Atlanrtic Prep Conference.
