Ally Heavens scored the game-winner with 1:04 to play to lift visiting Garnet Valley to a key 13-12 Central League girls’ lacrosse victory today over Springfield-Delco.
The Jaguars improved to 5-2 in the league and 10-2 overall, while the Cougars fell to 5-2 in the league and 9-2 overall.
AnnaElise Morello had three goals and three assists and Haley Warden added three goals and four draw controls while Heavens and Halley Barnes each added two goals and assist for Garnet Valley. Kate Stroup made nine saves in goal.
The Jaguars rallied from a 5-0 first-half defcit and trailed just 6-5 at halftime. Coley Ricci won the last draw for possession after Heavens got the game-winner.
Alex Poplawski led Springfield-Delco with five goals while Courtney Kennedy had three goals and an assist.
