Monday’s boys’ roundup: Strath Haven tops L. Merion in OT, 7-6; Shanahan, Interbor win

Steve Brodeur made 14 saves and Kevin Sherry scored off a feed from Colin Ca,pbell 25 seconds into overtime to lift visiting Strath Haven to a 7-6 victory today over Lower Merion in central league boys’ lacrosse.

Sherry and Matt Leonard each had two goals for the Panthers while Shane O’Donnell, Bryan Mizell and Mitch Cross each scored once.

Lower Merion got three goals from Chris Daly and two goals from Ernest Pendleton. Cooper Eisenhard had a goal and Eli Newschaffer made 11 saves.

Bishop Shanahan 21, Monsignor Bonner 2

John Mehok collected six goals and one assist and Keegan Lawton piled up three goals and six assists to lead the Eagles to an easy non-league win.

Interboro 16, Council Rock South 10

Dave Hearn scored four goals while Kyle Rasley and Brian Van Wyk each had three goals and an assist to lead the Bucs (7-2) to their seventh straight win.

Justin Eckert had three goals and Ryan Stackowitz had 13 saves.


Pope John Paul II 16, Conwell-Egan 7

Nick Pollick erupted for seven goals and Matt Bildstein added two goals and four assists while Josh Bildstein made 12 saves for PJP.

Matt Macenka had two goals for Conwell-Egan.


Upper Moreland 15, Norristown 10

Steve Fleming scored four goals and Nick DeBalko made 22 saves to lead the Bears to the Suburban One American victory.

Jake Naseef had three goals for the Eagles while Sean Calhoun added two gaolls and three assists.
