Friends Academy (N.Y.) junior attackman Harrison DellaFera has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Villanova University.

Friens Academy (NY) junior Harrison DellaFera has committed to Villanova

DellaFera, a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, plans to major in Business. He also considered Cornell, Navy, Rutgers, Bucknell, and Brown.

“I thought Coach (Michael) Corrado, (and assistants Simon) Connor, and (Andy) German were really welcoming and played a big role in my decision,” said DellaFera.

DelleFera was impressed with the academics and successful lacrosse program at Villanova. This year the Wildcats are 8-3 and are ranked No. 11 by the USILA.

“There are many reasons why I chose Villanova; I was looking for a school where I’d be happy, and where I was surrounded by great people,” said DellaFera. “Villanova has great academics, great lacrosse, and a great community.”

DellaFera also is a member of For The Love of The Game (N.Y.) club team.

DellaFera has 18 goals and eight assists this season, helping Friends Academy to a 3-0 conference record and a 6-2 overall mark. He also was named the Best Attackman at the Fran McCall Lacrosse Tournament.

DellaFera has high expectations for the season.

“Our overall goal is a state championship, but we know to get there we have to work hard and play our game,” said DellaFera. “We have a great group of seniors and we want to put Friends Academy on the map.”
