Thursday’s boys’ high school roundup: Pennsbury, Conestoga, Penncrest win

Calvin Hopkins had three goals and two assists and Andrew Probst scored three goals to lead host Pennsbury to a 9-3 victory over host Neshaminy today in Suburban One National Conference boys’ lacrosse opener.

Ricky Jutkiewicz added two goals for the Falcons (3-2) while Drew Sweetland made 12 saves.

Alex McKenzie paced the Redskins (2-4, 0-1) with two goals.

Conestoga 15, Lower Merion 3

Connor Frisina scored four goals and Charlie Hildebrand added three as the Pioneers (5-0, 3-0) cruised to the Central League win.

Kyle Morrison and Adam Goins each added two goals for Conestoga (5-0, 3-0).

Penncrest 11, Harriton 1

Andrew Caldwell scored four goals and Matt Klodarska had two goals and two assists to help the Lions earn the Central League win.

Downingtown West 17, Octorara 1

The Whippets improved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the Ches-Mont League with the easy win as Brad Shenberger had three goals and one assist, Eric Rankel had two goals and an assist and Mike Peppleman scored twice. Alex Cuttic was the winning goalie.

New Hope-Solebury 15, Springfield-Montco 0

John Cimbalista scored four goals and Alex Coleman, Carter Robinson and Jonathan Otto each had two to help the Lions earn the Bicentennial League shutout.

Upper Merion 16, Norristown 4

Trevor Kupecky collected five goals and five assists and Luc Minnich scored three goals while Conor Crowe made 11 saves to lead the Vikings to the Suburban One American Conference win.
