Juniors Kristen Bandos and Carlianne McCabe combined for 10 points and 10 draw controls as Notre Dame Academy opened its season with a 15-7 victory over Villa Maria Academy today in non-league girls’ lacrosse.
Bandos had four goals, two assists and six draw controls and McCabe had four goals, one assist and four draw controls. Delaney Tuite added three goals and Nora McCallion had two goals and an assist while Bree Buysse had two goals.
Also for the Irish, senior Katie Gerzabek had four caused turnovers. senior MC McDonald had two groundballs and two caused turnovers and Molly Borgese added three groundballs and one caused turnover.
For Villa Maria (2-1), Carolyn Griesser scored two goals and Jenna Mertz had two draw controls and three groundballs.
Penn Charter 17, Gwynedd Mercy Academy 6
Kate Higgins poured in six goals and added six assists and Blaine Steinberg scored five goals while Amanda Fleming had three to pace the Quakers to the non-league win.
Garnet Valley 18, Upper Darby 2
Ashley Pyle had five goals and an assist and AnneElise Morello contributed four goals and four assists to help the Jaguars cruise to the Central League win.
Conestoga 18, Penncrest 5
Taylor Lawlor had four goals and two assists, Kelly Morrison had three goals and two assists and Meghan McGillis added three goals and one assist to help the Pioneers coast to the Central League win.
Radnor 15, Marple Newtown 1
Taryn Deck had five goals and an assist, Kristen Norden scored three goals and Libby Lowry had two goals and four assists caused turnovers for the Red Raiders in the Central League win.
Springfield-Delco 13, Haverford High 10
Maddy Lynch scored three goals to help the Cougars (3-0) open their Central League season with a win.
Kelsey LeBlanc, Amanda Case, Jill Root and Lauren Falasco had two gaols apiece for the Fords.
Ridley 15, Lower Merion 7
Carly McColgan scored four goals, Ellen Udovich had three goals and an assist and Lacie Doubet added two goals and three assists for the Red Raiders in their Central League opener.
Central Bucks South 17, Central Bucks West 8
Kelly Hamilton piled up five goals and three assists and Taylor Michener contributed four goals and three assists while Maddie DiBrino added four goals and two assists to power the Titans to the Suburban One Continental Conference victory.
Mount St. Joseph 17, Villa Joseph Marie 5
Olivia Gannon collected six goals, one assist, seven draw controls and two groundballs and Stevie Wells had three goals and seven draw controls while Burke Brabson added three goals, one assist, four grounballs and two caused turnovers to help the Mount cruise to the Catholic Academies win.
Downingtown West 21, Neshaminy 2
Eva Winiarski had six goals and two assists and Jillian Sanders scored four goals while Maddie McGrail had two goals and three assists to pace the Whippets to the non-league win
Upper Dublin 13, Upper Merion 1
Kelly Cross collected five goals and five assists to lead the Cardinals to the Suburban One American Conference win.
